The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ), under its Collaborative Media Engagement for Development, Inclusivity and Accountability (CMEDIA) project, invites local journalism editors across Nigeria to apply for its June Masterclass on ‘Sustaining Impact: Funding, Partnerships, and Newsroom Resilience.’
As newsrooms face increasing financial pressures, shifting audience behaviours, and a rapidly evolving media landscape, sustaining investigative and public-interest journalism requires innovative funding approaches, strategic partnerships, and resilient newsroom structures.
This masterclass will bring together local journalism editors for a practical conversation on strengthening the sustainability and resilience of their newsrooms. Participants will explore funding strategies, revenue diversification opportunities, and partnership models that can support impactful reporting and enhance organisational sustainability.
The session will also provide insights into navigating current challenges in the media ecosystem while identifying opportunities for growth, collaboration, and long-term impact.
The masterclass will hold on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, bringing together newsroom leaders committed to strengthening independent and public-interest journalism in Nigeria.
