Visual Realities encompasses WSCIJ’s training and mentoring programmes targeted at enhancing the art of cartooning and visual storytelling among cartoonists and photojournalists across media organisations in Nigeria.

In December 2016, the WSCIJ launched ‘The Art of Cartoon: Imaging social realities’ to develop the capacity of reporters to implement satirical, investigative and humorous cartoons, while also helping them understand and apply the knowledge of various social media tools to better engage on the issues their cartoons address. In September 2018, the WSCIJ held the maiden edition of Visual Storytelling Workshop to help photojournalists develop the capacity to tell compelling and impactful stories using their photographs.
