WSCIJ held a stakeholder meeting on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, in Lagos, to review the narrative report of the 2024 edition of the Journalism and Civic Space Status Report, developed under its Civic Space Guard project. Participants included Lekan Otufodunrin, Executive Director, Media Career Development Network; Juliana Francis, Editor, Security News Alert; Olatunji Ololade, Associate Editor at The Nation Newspaper; Motunrayo Alaka, Executive Director/CEO of WSCIJ; Olaoluwa Adeleye, Programme Officer at WSCIJ; and Odinakachi Oko, intern at WSCIJ.

The meeting focused on reviewing the narrative content of the report. Stakeholders’ feedback was considered and reflected across various aspects, including the structure of the report, technical framework, infographic and other visual elements, the title, data presentation formats (particularly tables), and language clarity. Attention was paid to the analysis of findings and the identification of trends in civic space infringements. The session concluded with the allocation of specific responsibilities and a clear timeline to guide the final edits ahead of the report’s launch.
