Report Women! FRLP participants share story and leadership project at share fair

Twelve participants of the Report Women! Female Reporters Leadership Programme (FRLP), Champion Building edition, convened virtually on Wednesday, 28 May 2025, for a share fair session. The meeting provided a platform for participants to share progress on their investigative stories and leadership projects.

The participants – Bilkis Lawal, Rasheedat Iliyas, Mary Agidi, Christiana Alabi-Akande, Melony Ishola, Aisha Gambo, Jemilat Nasiru, Temitope Obayendo, Juliet Buna, Dana Zagi, Chigozie Victor, and Gloria Attah, shared updates on their ongoing investigative stories and leadership projects. The journalists presented their work spans with themes such as child trafficking, teenage vulnerability, unsafe learning environment, maternal health and gender-based violence. During the session, they reflected on progress made, challenges encountered, and the lessons drawn so far.

On their part, mentors including, Idris Akinbajo, Managing Editor, Premium Times; Juliana Francis, Publisher, Security News Alert and Motunrayo Alaka, Executive Director/CEO, WSCIJ offered detailed feedback, encouraging participants to strengthen their story angles, ensure depth and accuracy in sourcing, and maintain the highest ethical standards. The conversation provided space for peer-to-peer learning, and shared strategies for navigating obstacles in their reporting and leadership journey.

The Share Fair is a part of the FRLP, supporting participants to refine their outputs before the close of the fellowship. In the coming weeks, participants will focus on completing their investigative story and consolidating their leadership projects, in preparation of their graduation as fellows of the Report Women! FRLP 2025 cohort.
