Inside WSCIJ: Odinakachi Oko, Communications Assistant, weds in Abia

It was a vibrant display of culture and communal joy as Odinakachi Oko, Communications Assistant at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ), wedded her partner, Vincent Chinecherem Osi, at Amaeke, Etitiama Nkporo, in Ohafia local government area, Abia State.

The ceremony marked a significant personal milestone for Odinakachi, who is highly regarded within the Centre for her commitment and professional competence.

The event followed the rich customs of the Nkporo people, with the central highlight being the bride’s ceremonial entrance. The bride was received by her parents and community elders for traditional blessings; the moment signified a transition supported by both her biological and professional families.

In an interview, the newly addressed Mrs. Odinakachi Vincent Osi expressed profound gratitude for the success of the union. She described her husband as a “calm, steady, and kind partner,” noting that their three-year relationship has been built on a foundation of mutual respect. Reciprocating the sentiment, Mr. Vincent Osi described his bride as a “great gift,” affirming his commitment to a lifelong partnership.

The event featured several cultural highpoints, including the formal presentation of kolanuts, a traditional symbol of hospitality, and the procession of the bridal train.

The Management and Staff of WSCIJ extend their warmest wishes to the couple for a lifetime of marital bliss and shared success.
