The new Public Affairs Officer at the United States Consulate General Lagos, Russell Brooks, paid a courtesy visit to the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) office in Lagos on Tuesday, 18 September 2018.
During the visit, Russell interacted with the Coordinator and the WSCIJ team, discussing WSCIJ’s media capacity development programmes and the Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting, with a view to exploring possible areas of collaboration with the Centre.
Russell, who served as the spokesperson for the U.S Mission Nigeria between August 2016 and July 2018, had worked in Honduras, Peru, Iraq, Côte d’Ivoire and Washington, DC before his current tour in Nigeria.
