The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) in collaboration with Developing Effective Private Education Nigeria (DEEPEN) invites entries from Nigerian professional journalists based in Lagos from the print, broadcast and photography specialties to the Programme for Improving Education Reporting (PIER) in Lagos State

Programme for Improving Education Reporting (PIER) in Lagos State is an initiative of Developing Effective Private Education Nigeria (DEEPEN) of the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) technically supported by the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ). It is designed to train and mentor journalists towards improving the educational sector in Lagos state with focus on low-cost private education. The programme will give intensive training to journalists, conduct peer review meetings as well as provide a platform for structured mentoring for participating journalists. PIER seeks to advance the partners’ commitment to the respect for the rights of the child to education and its implications for development.

Note: Applicants without relevant works but with demonstrated commitment and promise may be considered.
Female journalists are encouraged to apply.
