Juliana Francis, has launched her book titled ‘We Are Priceless’, which focuses on combatting human trafficking. The event took place on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Nigeria Police Officers Wives. Association Hall in Ikeja, Lagos, with Dr. Solomon Arase, the former Inspector General of Police and current Chair of the Police Service Commission as Chairman.
The book was reviewed by Femi Adesina OON, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. Olufunke Fayemi of the Report Women Network, Evelyn Usman, the vice-president of the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), and Godwin Morka, the former director of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) were among the special guests at the event.
The book centres on the harrowing escape of five brave children from the clutches of sex slavery as the author highlights the vulnerability of children and the dangerous path in the pursuit of wealth. The former crime editor with The New Telegraph won the 2014 WSCIJ-Nigerian Investigative Journalist of the Year and in 2017 became a Report Women! Female Reporters Leadership Programme (FRLP) Fellow.
